Tami Gold

Tami Gold, Hunter College professor and filmmaker, shares her life-long journey uniting film and activism. We learn about her initial work documenting the U.S. destabilization of democracy in Central America. She also revisits the killing of Amadou Diallo by NYC police officers, the subject of her documentary, “Every Mother’s Son,” already a classic in the Social Justice documentary catalog. Finally, Ms. Gold reflects on her film “Puzzles: When Hate Came to Town,” which showcases the correlation between American economic desperation, homophobia, and violence.
